A Guide to Different Types of Glass Walls for Offices

Glass walls are a very popular office feature for many good reasons. If you want to create space definition and add a sense of privacy without making the office feel too closed off, glass walls are a very effective way to do just that. Glass walls also help maximize access to natural lighting, can help keep noise levels under control, and can look very stylish. But if you’re interested in having glass walls in your office, there are a few different types to consider.

Framed & Frameless Glass Walls
Framed and frameless are two of the most common types of glass walls. With framed glass walls, each side of a panel is surrounded by a frame, typically made of aluminum. Beyond aesthetics, having this frame can improve durability by providing extra stability for the panels. However, if you prefer a more seamless look, you might be more interested in frameless glass walls since those panels only have support at the top and the bottom, not on all sides.

Acoustic Glass Walls
If you want to use glass walls for conference rooms or enclosed spaces for people who need to make phone calls, acoustic glass walls are a great option to consider. These types of glass panels are designed to provide a higher level of sound dampening than standard glass panels. Not only do acoustic glass walls provide acoustic privacy for the people inside the space, they help prevent noise from meetings from distracting others who may be working nearby.

Modular Glass Walls
Modular glass walls aren’t something you can necessarily move around at a moment’s notice, but they can still give you some flexibility to reconfigure the layout of your office if you need to at some point in the future. Reconfiguring these panels does require the help of professionals, but the panels can be reused, which gives you a way to save money and helps speed up the process of rearranging your layout.
